Hjerting Badehotel - Esbjerg

Dinner in the restaurant was very good, and breakfast was too. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the sea-view room was great. I visited in winter, though, so it was dark early and thick misty in the morning. I'd like to come back in summer.

Our suite on the first floor had a terrace with chairs, a table and sun loungers, plus a wide, unobstructed view of the fjord. It was spacious, with a living area and a small kitchenette. There was a large TV in the living space and a smaller one in the bedroom. The recently refurbished room felt both contemporary and classic, and the building was in very good condition and very clean. We ate dinner and breakfast in the cosy restaurant, where the food was good and the service friendly. We had a few minor hiccups during our one-night stay, which kept it just short of perfect, but it was still very memorable. Recommended.

The cottage was even better in person than it looked online, and we loved our two nights at Hjerting Badehotel. The staff were genuinely friendly and always ready to help. We enjoyed the restaurant, cafe and breakfast, and the location is amazing. Highly recommended.

When we left for dinner, my colleague and I handed our room keys in at reception. On our return, the doors were locked and we couldn't get into the hotel. There was no staff on duty overnight, so we waited an hour until another guest let us in, allowing us to get the keys from the safe box. The keys themselves are physical ones with a large wooden stick attached. Breakfast service was rude and impolite. The hotel is fairly average, with a very basic breakfast and a nice view. The coast there isn't good for swimming, though the beach is okay.
