Højmølle Kro

We left very annoyed after paying over €160 for very little. The vegetarian cabbage plate the waiter kindly offered to make was tasty, but small, and we were charged the equivalent of 40 euros for it. That felt outrageous. The portion was good, but I wouldn’t value it at more than €15. The waiters, atmosphere, and everything else were fine. There just weren’t any vegetarian dishes on the menu.

We had dinner here with the family and found it a great place, with good food and a wonderfully hospitable owner and staff. I’m really annoyed that someone gave it a one star review over the vegetarian dish made on request, even though it wasn’t on the menu. They should be ashamed of that.

There are walking routes around Eskiltrup, which is a nice little village. The rooms building has excellent wifi, and breakfast is served from 6-9 with everything you need. Rooms are a bit dated but exceptionally clean, and the beds are perfect. Dinner is available from 18 to 19:30. There’s no menu, but the food is simple, good, and nicely arranged on the plates. A great place to stay near the route to and from Rødby.

We had a happy, relaxing night at this lovely traditional kro in the countryside, a short drive from the motorway. There’s plenty of free parking, and the simple rooms are cozy and very quiet. Dinner at the restaurant was a really pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.
