There are tent spots as well as charming “shelterplads,” and we chose one of those this time. It held up surprisingly well against the wind, though I’d bring mosquito protection. The site has a mix of plants and lots of mirabelle trees. There’s drinking water, cold showers, a fire pit with a grill, and toilets open from 8am to 8pm. A beautiful place to camp after getting off the ferry from Rostock.
You’re asked to donate 3€ per person per night to help keep the place going, which seems completely fair to me. Read the instructions on the shelters. There are two clean shelters, a good spot for a tent, a fireplace, a clean bio toilet and free water. Everything you need.
We rented the whole place for two nights for our family, about 20 of us. Good for the price.
I looked up the details online and booked on site. The shelter was excellent, and cheap too, just DKK 35. It seems popular: when I got there around 4 pm, I was only the third person, but a family arrived while I was pitching my tent and then more and more people kept showing up. I stayed there because I needed to catch an early ferry, so I got up very early.
A lovely spot, wild and exciting.
