Herman Bang Bed & Breakfast

The location and breakfast are great, but I wouldn’t return. There was no housekeeping during our 2 day stay, the bedcover was dirty when we arrived, and the bathroom was super small. In room 321, the neo lights also brighten the room at night.

Our dog was made very welcome, and we had a room set aside for guests with dogs. It had a hard floor and was fine. The place is conveniently located near restaurants, with convenient parking. The bathroom and sink were a bit small, but okay.

What really stood out was the service. I’ve lived in DK for almost 5 years, and this was by far the friendliest, most helpful service I’ve experienced. It was amazing, and I’d definitely stay again. It’s a nice but basic hotel with comfortable rooms and beds, partly renovated, and it’s good value for money. Breakfast was good, and the location is good too, in the city centre close to the ferries.

The restaurant had no vegetarian or fish meals at all, even though we’d been offered “alt går i fisk,” which was supposed to cover all our meals. When booking, the hotel said only business rooms were available, so we had to pay an extra 27 euro per person per night to upgrade. Yet the hotel was clearly empty when we arrived. Parking cost over 10 euro per night, and that wasn’t specified anywhere. The experience was horribly overpriced.
