The place feels abandoned and rundown. It may have been lovely in its heyday, and there’s a lot of potential, but now the garden is overgrown and the rooms, though just about okay, are basic and worn. The animals looked skinny and hungry, and were drinking dirty water. There are trampolines and other things for children in the garden, but the whole place needs a serious cleanup. I can’t recommend staying here. We ordered breakfast and it never arrived. Staff weren’t available, and they didn’t answer when we called. The key was left in the door when we arrived, and we were left to figure everything else out ourselves. It felt very strange.

The apartments are in great shape and seem to have been recently renovated. They’re surrounded by cornfields, with a beautiful garden full of fruit and berries, and Legoland is only 9 kilometers away. Each apartment has nearby parking, and pets are allowed. Payment is in cash. There’s a partly indoor, partly outdoor dining area where you can bring your own food, borrow the grill, or use the pizza oven. In the apartment we had a stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, kettle, and instant coffee. There was also a TV and fast Wi-Fi, which I measured at around 100/100 Mbit.

It’s a remote spot, but major attractions like Legoland are still close, about a 15-minute drive. The owner was very nice and helpful, and there are lots of animals around, including chickens, rabbits, cats, a goat, and a pig.
