The food and atmosphere are excellent, as usual. Service could use a bit of work, though: our drinks order was wrong, and plates were forgotten several times. There was also no need to replace the water bottle every couple of minutes.

On a warm summer evening, sitting with a gin and tonic and lime while the sun goes down over Årø Sund is hard to beat. The place has a lovely atmosphere and gorgeous views.

Tim made our visit really special. We were there with our baby, and he took such good care of both of us, especially her. The room and food were good too. It’s also worth taking the ferry to the neighboring island for a couple of hours of walking. Thanks for everything, Tim :)

The dinner was great, with wine pairings that worked perfectly, and the staff were all very friendly. Our room was clean and fresh, and just a very short distance from the beach. We stayed two nights at this old, well-kept hotel, with antique furniture and beds, lovely paintings, and a dining area with a genuine Karen Blixen feel. The English-speaking receptionist was especially kind and helpful, as the rest of the staff didn’t speak English. If you love antiques, there’s plenty to photograph throughout the rooms and dining areas.

Such a cozy, lovely location. It isn’t open right now, but I hope it opens again soon. I’d definitely recommend it.
