The bathroom was the big letdown. I was given the accessible room, which had a shower with no curtain or screen, so water sprayed across the room and left the floor cold and flooded. There wasn’t a mop, squeegee, or even a small towel to clear it, so I had to step through a puddle whenever I used the facilities. Apparently the other rooms have regular showers, so check which room you’re getting if you want to avoid the aquatic suite. Getting in late was easy thanks to self check-in. I could arrive at 3 a.m. without anyone there to judge my startled-badger look, which was a real plus for someone whose schedule doesn’t fit a 9-to-5. Breakfast was nice enough too, even if it wasn’t a full English. Plenty to get me going for the day in Herning, whatever people do there besides admire windmills and be punctual.

There was plenty of parking, which made getting around easy and took away any worry about finding a space. The hotel is in a quiet area, and the technology is built in discreetly while still providing the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were lovely, always smiling, and the common areas were pleasant. I especially liked the quiet reading corner and the board games area for time with friends or family. There’s also a fun video game corner. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and a delicious menu. I had a great experience and would definitely return. Highly recommended for comfort, friendly service, and modern facilities in a relaxing setting.

The service was poor. I stayed for two nights, and on one of them the hotel hadn’t prepared dinner for the guests.

The room was small, and the heating was off when I arrived, so it took about half an hour to warm up. Even so, Aiden Hotel worked well for my work trips to Ikast, and I’d stay again. The location and overall quality suit a business traveler. The hotel was clean, and breakfast was better than I expected, with a decent selection. I’ve had worse breakfasts at more expensive, higher-rated hotels in Denmark. Self check-in suits me since I prefer not to deal with reception. If following simple instructions is a problem, as some reviewers say, stay somewhere else ;) The gym and sauna were a great extra. I seemed to be the only person using them, which made it even better.
