Four Points Express by Sheraton Hillerod

The rooms are clean, but they’re very small and you only get towels and a paper cup. There aren’t even glasses or bottled water, so you’re expected to drink tap water, which is ridiculous. The reception is only open until 22:00, not around the clock, and I don’t think that warrants calling this a hotel. I also asked for a late check-out at 11:30 or 12:00 instead of 11:00, but they wanted to charge for it. Service was average. The location is the main advantage, and the rest isn’t worth the price.

The lack of a wardrobe and small fridge was my only complaint, though it wasn’t a big inconvenience on this trip. I’d expect those basic features in a premium hotel, but I’m not sure if their absence is a Danish or Scandinavian thing. Otherwise, this was the best choice during my stay in picturesque Hillerød. The staff were friendly and helpful, check-in and check-out were quick and smooth, and I liked the modern, minimalist design mixed with a warm Danish “hygge” feel.

It’s right in the middle of Hillerød, but the rooms are very small. Breakfast isn’t included, and there’s no gym.

Good value for money if all you need is somewhere to sleep and shower. The hotel covers the basics, but there’s no minibar and the front desk is closed at night.
