Check-in took some searching, but the place to do it is the shop downstairs, not the restaurant upstairs. The shop next door is handy for groceries, and there’s plenty of free parking. We visited before the season in bad weather, so I can’t say whether parking is still enough on a sunny summer day. The beach is an easy walk, and our balcony looked over the dunes. Our room was clean, the beds were made neatly and comfortable, and linen was included in the price. The bathroom was small and looked a bit old, but it was clean. There was no free Wi-Fi or TV. We didn’t use the wake-up service or have breakfast, so I can’t comment on either. One night felt a little expensive for the quality, though I suspect the location is part of what you pay for.

Out of season, especially in May, June, August, and September, this place feels like paradise. The white beach and its big waves are just a minute’s walk away, with beautiful nature all around. We spent summers here as kids and came back last week as adults. The small hotel still has the same relaxed spirit, and it doesn’t try to be big or special, which is part of what makes it special. There are only a few rooms, with some in nearby cabins. The owner is friendly and knows what’s going on around Tornby. You meet her in the shop below the dining room, where she hands over the key and sells groceries.

Really cute house in a top location. It was clean and roomy, and the bed was very comfortable.

We stayed one night. The room was clean, though there wasn’t anything special about it and it was short on electrical outlets. The staff were very friendly.
