My sister and I spent six nights at Hotel Phonix I Hjorring and really enjoyed this family boutique hotel. Being close to shops, restaurants and tourist spots made our stay a pleasure. Many thanks to Brigitte and Familien Messmann for a lovely time at this unique family-run place. Annette Flight

A nice place at a competitive price, highly recommended. Just keep in mind that breakfast on Saturday starts at 8 am, and there’s no one available to help guests before then. The lift wasn’t working.

We arrived late, after reception had closed, but the kind staff still helped us after hours. A patient and helpful man found me a room at 1:00 in the morning so I could rest after the trip. Everything worked out great. Many thanks, and my strongest recommendation. Greetings from Norway.

Right in central Hjørring, the hotel still has a huge backyard where you can park for free. We got a friendly welcome at reception, and the rooms meet a decent hotel standard, though they haven’t been refurbished recently. I had an early start and asked about breakfast before the usual 7 am time. At 6:45, a generous buffet was already set out, with bread, eggs, fruit, ham, cheese, sausages, herring, coffee and more. There’s a drop box at reception for key cards, which made checkout quick.

Really good value, with a fantastic atmosphere and service. You can tell it’s a family-run hotel, and there’s plenty of good parking. I can highly recommend it.
