"Stavros" - 500m from the sea in NW Jutland

We’d booked a table for the music, but when we arrived other people were sitting there and there wasn’t room for us. The owner didn’t seem willing to sort it out and basically told us to go away. We got our money back, but I wouldn’t return. It makes me wonder if you could turn up to camp and find your spot taken, only to be told tough luck. Apparently we were unpleasant just for asking them to confirm where our table was. I still stand by my one star.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and their new bar serving local beer was a nice boost, especially with the mixed weather we had at Lonstrop. Our van and the campsite facilities were excellent and spotless. The grassy pitches were flat, with electricity and water close at hand. It’s a lovely area to explore, and the beach and restaurants are just a five-minute walk away. We’ll be back.

July 2024. The excellent local Spa shop is well stocked with all sorts of things. There are also good beaches, plus a pleasant village with interesting cafés, restaurants, and art and craft galleries. It’s a good base for exploring the area on foot or by bike.

The owner was easily the best part of our stay, such a kind, friendly gentleman who was always easy to find when we had questions. He even helped me sort out an error with the washing machine. We’ve been travelling around Europe in our caravan all summer, and this was the first place that made me want to write a review. The location near town and the parking spaces were excellent, and the showers, bathroom and kitchen were all clean and homely. We’d definitely camp here again.
