Hotel Schaumburg

It probably looked nice 20 years ago, but it badly needs remodeling now. The place is falling apart: the wood floors need sanding, the carpets seem to have about 10 years of grime in them, and the decorative vinyl wrapping is damaged.

There are rooms in different sizes, some with balconies and a good view of the inner city. There’s even a house for rent if you’re travelling with pets. The hotel is right in the heart of Holstebro City, alongside an English pub, and it also has a very good restaurant and bar.

The hotel has its own parking lot right in the centre of holstebro, and a very very good breakfast. The rooms are a little old-school in their decor, but they have everything you need, and cleaners come every day. There are two exits, one leading directly onto the main street holstebro. The only annoying thing is that people sometimes stand outside the rooms on the parking side and get loud in the middle of the night, especially if you sleep with the windows open.

The second, third and fourth floors absolutely stink of damp and mould. They moved me from an unbearable-smelling room on the third floor to the fourth, which was slightly better but still bad. There’s no lift, so I had to use the stairs. My room had no towels, and the phone didn’t work, so I had to walk back down all four flights to ask for some 😂. The hotel is extremely dated and tatty. I’d rather sleep on a park bench. How it got a 4-star rating is beyond me.
