Scandic Kolding

The room had a dirty hand towel, and there weren't any small square face towels like I usually use to wash my face and cover my child's eyes during hair washing. My child got adult shampoo in their eyes, which made for a painful and upsetting start. That wasn't the sort of cleanliness or family-friendly setup I'd expect from Scandic. I also wasn't given a mocktail voucher for my child or a room upgrade, though I expected both as a Friendship Level 6 (True Friend) member. Reception gave me vouchers but didn't explain they couldn't be used for alcohol, even though I'd asked about the bar's closing time in that same conversation. The benefits comparison page on the website doesn't explain this restriction either. It left me questioning what this loyalty tier is really worth. All four Clever EV charging stations were occupied throughout my stay. There's a public fast charger nearby, but my car can't use fast charging, so it wasn't a practical option. A modern hotel should have more flexible EV charging available. I've generally found Scandic reliable, but this stay fell short in several areas. I hope they communicate loyalty benefits more clearly, add charging capacity, and pay closer attention to cleanliness and amenities for families.

Breakfast offers a very wide selection, and the rooms are clean with modern furnishings. The staff are pleasant and kind. Parking at the hotel is free after registering at reception, too.

I was there for a conference, and the friendly, smiling staff made a great impression. The rooms were tidy and had good desks for working. The food was amazing, with breakfast and lunch buffets offering just about everything, including vegan and gluten-free choices without needing to ask. Break snacks ranged from sweets to vegetables, and there was always fresh water, coffee, and tea. There's also a gym and a sauna in the cellar if you want to relax or do some sports. It's a bit away from the city center in an industrial area, but easy to get to from the highway. I'd definitely recommend it 👌🏽

The rooms could do with updating, but they were clean. There's a large free parking area, and the hotel is conveniently close to Kolding and about 35-40 minutes from Billund airport. The breakfast buffet is very good and has almost everything. Food quality at breakfast, lunch, and dinner is very high.
