Hotel Strandgaarden

The breakfast kept getting replenished all morning, so food wasn’t left sitting on the buffet for too long, and there were fresh, really soft boiled eggs for everyone. We had two wonderful days at Strandgården, a seaside hotel, in a lovely room with a bath. It’s a beautiful renovated farm, with nice garden furniture and plenty of room for everyone. Warm recommendations from here *****

The only thing I’d take a star off for is the room, since there’s no ventilation except opening the balcony door. Everything else was top notch. This is an old farm with real soul and history, and the drivers could tell us about it. We got a personal welcome and a tour of the farm before being shown to our room. There are lovely outdoor spots with benches in both the yard and garden. The beach is a two minute walk away, and restaurants and shops are 5-10 minutes away. It’s a charming, cozy place, and we definitely want to return.

Five of us have had our weddings and wedding parties at Strandgaarden, and even after some remodeling the farm still feels familiar. The changes are tasteful and lovely, and the staff are as sweet and friendly as they were in Mrs. Mortensen’s time. My niece and her husband celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary today, and 12 of us from the immediate family gathered for a wonderful breakfast buffet at Strandgaarden in Vesterø, Læsø. There was plenty of breakfast for children and adults alike, and the price was very reasonable. At the moment, they only rent rooms with the option of breakfast, though perhaps evening meals will be added later, like when Mrs. Nielsen was in charge of the food. That food was good and carefully prepared with respect for the seasons. Those of us at breakfast agreed it should become a regular visit. Thank you for such a good experience. Strandgaarden can only be recommended.

Good, friendly service and decent rooms with a toilet and bath. There are good dining spots not far away.
