The staff were nice when we dealt with them, but there was no real service. We weren’t told anything about dinner or the facilities, or much of anything. The food was a gamble across our two nights: one dinner was great, the other was poor. The views were great, though. The facilities badly need updating, with much of it seemingly unchanged from the 70s. An odd little tip: put rice in the salt shakers, since the salt had clumped solid and wouldn’t come out. Interesting to experience, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Being able to walk to the museum, shops, restaurants and bus station made this waterfront hotel especially convenient. I also loved the canal-side walks and the afternoon tea, along with the food in general. It felt cozy, and I’d happily stay here again.

People were swimming and catching crabs by the seafront, with a walking path running along the harbor. I really enjoyed it.
