The place is huge, with large rooms spread across a maze of long corridors. Corridor lights even have to be switched on manually with red buttons, which felt absurd in 2023. The staff were friendly, but communication between them seemed nonexistent. Reception and the kitchen share one phone number, and once I’d said a few words, the call was simply dropped. Management appears to skimp on cleaning and general housekeeping while charging far too much. They don’t seem to invest, but still expect a big return. The pool is small, perhaps 10 by 4 metres, and very warm. There’s also a tiny jacuzzi for two at most, plus wet and dry saunas. Using any of it takes effort because the service is so poor. There are no towels or lockers in the pool and sauna area, so you’re expected to arrive already dressed for it. The room had no bathrobe or slippers either. Otherwise you’re left walking half-dressed through those long corridors in 18°C, so bring your own. The wet sauna is usable, but its rusty ceiling drips, and rust could harbor nasty bacteria. The dry sauna is spacious, though its heater is tiny and it still hadn’t warmed up after an hour. Guests have to operate everything themselves, including switching the facilities on ahead of time and turning them off when leaving. There weren’t many other people around, so you’re on your own.

The only good things for me were the view and the large parking area. The room was dirty, with dirty sheets and lots of spiders, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the hotel. The spa smelled even worse and was a joke. Breakfast was very poor. For this price, I’d rather go anywhere else, even a hostel. There wasn’t even hot water to make tea in the evening, basic things were missing. I can’t really rate the service because I didn’t meet anyone.

The restaurant used to be the one positive thing, but that’s gone too. Now there’s a buffet for 99 DKK, the cheapest buffet I could find in Denmark. I don’t know how long they’ll last. I have to stay here several times a year because there aren’t any alternatives, even though it’s the worst hotel I’ve seen in many years. The 80s style might be trendy again if it were actually from the 80s and hadn’t been renovated. Cleanliness is another problem. There are usually hairs from previous guests in the bathroom, and finding dead spiders isn’t surprising.

The hotel is spacious and big, with okay Wi-Fi and plenty to do on site. But it’s very old and poorly maintained. I found lots of these snails on my floor in the morning, which totally disgusted me. I’ll never come back.

Used and damaged furniture in the room and a spiderweb in the closet made for a grim stay. Breakfast ended at 10:00 sharp, and we were kicked out before we could even finish our coffee. The staff were bored and unfriendly. This place feels like a prison. Avoid it.
