The greenhouses were huge and fascinating, and grow nearly all the food served in the restaurant. I’d definitely recommend a walk around the island. We came by air taxi, though you can take a boat too. It’s about 30 minutes from Roskilde Airport outside Copenhagen. I was there for a conference and found the big rooms really luxurious, with staff who paid close attention. The food was excellent, and the wines were great. A brilliant little hideout.

We were staying on our sailboat, so I can’t comment on the rooms. Still, we got to enjoy the island: we cycled around on the free bikes, walked to the lighthouse, and swam in the beautiful water. Even with Skipperly closed on Monday, they let us buy a drink and play yatzy. The staff were lovely, helpful, and full of information. They seemed to really enjoy their work. Such a beautiful place.

We came away feeling rested and recharged after three lovely days of pure relaxation. The hotel was lovely, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Skipperly is well worth a visit too, with lovely breakfast, lunch, and dinner made mostly from ingredients they supply themselves. We’ll be back.

We flew to the island and had a lovely lunch at Skipperly. Denmark has few gems this good. I’d love to come back.
