The breakfast had so many delicious choices, and the staff were super friendly. The hotel is in really pretty surroundings, and we spotted lots of deer and other lovely deer-like wild animals. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the village for dinner, or you can eat at the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for one night in a large, airy suite with lots of light. It was very comfortable and quiet, though the rooms are a little sparse and basic. Breakfast had a great range of quality food to suit everyone. It’s about a mile’s walk into town along a gravel path by the water.

The room was spotless and had a large bedroom, lots of wardrobes, an iron and ironing board, plus a living room with a big TV, couch, and chairs. I didn’t use the TV, and the couch wasn’t especially comfortable, though it was useful. The grander suite I had also had large sliding French doors and a wooden balcony overlooking the beautiful river and surroundings. I had a frustrating start when I couldn’t find a towel in the bathroom and ended up showering and using the robes. It turned out to be behind the door, which struck me as an odd place for it. The staff kindly showed me where it was and didn’t make me feel foolish, but I’d never seen towels hung out of sight like that at all the hotels I’ve stayed in. The lodge has a warm atmosphere, and the staff are lovely and smiley. The restaurant food is really nice, though a bit expensive, and there’s a shop with gifts and beauty products. It’s a brilliant lodge and hotel, and I’d recommend it. Kudos to the staff!

I was there for work, but I’ll be back soon with my partner. The view from the room was amazing, and I didn’t want to sleep because watching the sunrise was so good, something everyone should do once a year. Check-in was quick and friendly, as were the rest of the staff. The restaurant was a great experience, with delicious food and excellent wines to go with it.
