Møn Økologisk B&B

The outdoor shower was a great bonus, set in the sun with warm water, and there were chickens wandering around. Eva is a wonderful host who makes sure you feel right at home. Lovely place!

We would never recommend this place. It was a terrible experience, and we hope the hostess thinks about whether she should run a B&B when she acts as though she detests having guests. Her husband was the only reason this place deserves even one star. He was nice throughout our stay and very welcoming when we arrived. The hostess was rude when we arranged to pitch our tent in her backyard, and later came home drunk at night, swearing at us, calling us names, telling us to go back where we came from, and rejecting every kind gesture we made. The whole place smelled of cigarette smoke, and chickens chased us everywhere on the property. We’ve hosted on Airbnb ourselves for a long time and often stay in homestays, so we know what it’s like to be a guest in someone’s home. We’ve never been treated this badly anywhere in the world. The hostess said nearly 300 kr. was a fair tent price, like a camping spot, though similar places on Møn charged 100-150 kr. We couldn’t use the kitchen, common areas, or even a toaster, despite the rain. She charged 120 kr. per person for a simple breakfast of bread, cheese, and a boiled egg. The only dinner option was homemade ratatouille, priced at 175 kr. per person, like a first-class restaurant in Copenhagen.

We didn’t stay overnight, but the landlady was very sweet and helpful, so maybe next time. It’s a nice organic farm with hens and a miniature golf course. The course has 12 holes, quite short but surprisingly tough if you’re trying for a hole in one.

We won’t be coming back to Møn organic bed and breakfast. It’s expensive for what you get, and the owner’s harsh tone made us feel unwelcome. Food and drinks aren’t allowed, something I wish they’d told us on the website or when we booked. Instead, when we’d ordered pizza, we got an unpleasant response in a rather sharp tone. You have to be comfortable with smoking, unclear rules about where you can go, and an owner who speaks badly about other guests. We saw a guest from Norway get laughed at, criticized, and mocked. When they asked for a key to their room, the owner became unpleasant and said they wouldn’t get one because she was the boss. She ended the conversation by saying, “So get it anyway.”
