Breakfast was elegant and delicious, with an artful presentation that felt ancient. The building has a real sense of history too, from the leather and beams to the hand-laid tile, while still offering modern conveniences.

Dinner was excellent, and we liked the simple place and its nice location. The huge number of skulls on the reception walls was super creepy, in a fun way.

The room was so low that at 2.04 m tall I couldn’t even fit in the shower. It’s a nice hotel, but it was noisy all night, with other guests coming and going and keeping me awake.

Hotel Kristine is right in the city center of Næstved, just a short walk from shops and restaurants, and I’d happily stay again. I spent five nights here in a cozy, clean two-person room in the outbuilding. The Hästens boxspring bed was very comfortable, with several pillows, and I liked the bathroom’s floor heating. There was also a minibar. Breakfast had a good range of bread, cold cuts, cheese, scrambled eggs, mini omelets, sausages, and fruit. The warm rolls were a favorite, crisp outside and soft inside. The restaurant’s menu is a bit limited, but everything on it is exceptionally good. Book ahead, because it’s likely to be full if you just turn up.

We’re really glad we picked this beautiful hotel for our time in Naestved. The rooms were nice, and breakfast was lovely.
