Hotel Frøslev Kro

The room smelled moldy, and there were bugs crawling on the ceiling even though it was the middle of winter, so they couldn't have come in from outside. I caught three ladybugs in a small plastic cup because they kept flying around and stopping me from sleeping. Breakfast was very basic too. The bread was bake-off bread that seemed like it needed more time in the oven. I was driving through and needed somewhere for the night; this was somewhere to stay and not much else. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in.

We arrived at 10 p.m. without an appointment and were first quoted 75-80 euros with breakfast. At checkout in the morning, they asked us to pay 100 euros instead. We had a room with a matrimonial bed and shared the bathroom with two other rooms. Do I even need to describe the smell? Avoid the place.

The receptionist was kind and helpful when we urgently needed somewhere to stay. The room was very spacious, and breakfast was simple, tasty, and included in the price. The overall cost was affordable. Set in an old building, the place has historic charm. Really lovely, and I'd definitely come back. :)

We were gone after 15 minutes. There was poop in the toilet and pubic hair on the floor, and the receptionist, maybe the owner, was incredibly rude and not helpful or service-minded at all. There was no feeling of 'hygge', and the decoration was super tacky. I've travelled around the world and stayed in plenty of hotels, motels and hostels. This was by far the worst place I've seen or stayed in. I wish I could give zero stars. Avoid it at all costs!
