The owner, a friendly French woman, made me feel welcome, and the house is decorated with good taste. My room was bright and huge, and there was also a big living room and a lovely garden. The place was spotless. I had a few wonderfully peaceful, relaxing days on my first trip to Silkeborg, and I’m sure I’ll stay at The Old Chestnut Tree again. I didn’t try breakfast, though I’m sure it would be delicious.
After a long day of hiking, we could really unwind in the spacious private living room downstairs. It has a separate dining area, a big TV with two lounge chairs and Apple TV, plus a Nespresso machine. There’s another smaller TV and Nespresso machine in the upstairs bedroom, and the beds are comfy. The room was immaculate and the bathroom looked stunning. We opted for breakfast, which came with fresh bakery bread and a great spread of meat, cheese, eggs, and plenty more. The owners were very friendly. I can’t fault the place, and I’ve recommended it to my parents for their upcoming trip through Denmark.
We had such a good stay at the old chestnut tree. Cecile was a lovely host, and little dog Jazz made it even sweeter. We’d happily recommend it.
The host was kind, the interior was fancy, and the service was great. A truly astonishing B&B.
