A lovely, understated spot to unwind. The owners are great.

There’s a lot of history in these buildings, once a farm and merchant’s house before becoming a guesthouse, but the rooms feel fresh, airy, and bright. They’re simple rather than fancy, especially the bathrooms, and everything was clean. Breakfast had plenty of bread and cold cuts, fruit, boiled eggs, and a little Danish pastry. You can buy wine and other drinks there, and there’s parking in the courtyard plus garden seating. It’s near the beach south of the center and harbor, and close to Krøyer's house. The guesthouse sits in a quiet residential area along the extension of Skagen's main shopping street, about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. Comfortable beds, too. A perfect summer stay.

The garden has little tables and chairs where you can linger over coffee and let your mind drift. It’s cozy, and bikes are available to rent cheaply. The place is peaceful but still close to the center, with friendly staff who are always smiling and ready to help. The Danish breakfast was very good. Definitely recommend it.

We’ve stayed here twice in recent years. After my wife and I spent one night and loved it, we brought our two daughters and sons-in-law in August 2013, booking three double rooms for two nights. The breakfast buffet is extraordinary, the rooms are large and really good, and the shared spaces feel cozy. There’s free parking on site, and the place is only a few hundred meters from the center and harbor. It isn’t cheap, at about 990 DKK per night per double room, but it’s worth every penny. We’d like to come back. Last time, we could spend the evening in the garden house with food we’d brought ourselves, as long as we bought the wine from them. A real win-win.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped, and the service is friendly. It’s a romantic guesthouse up at Denmark’s northernmost point. We felt right at home.
