Hotel Limfjorden

The view is amazing, but I couldn’t justify the price. The beds were very uncomfortable, and there are no doors between the rooms.

The location was fantastic, with a view from the room over Limfjorden and the shoreline about 50-100 metres away. Breakfast was decent, and the rate was relatively low. The room felt a bit worn, with very tired upholstery on the leather chair, and the pool was too cold to touch, so we skipped it.

A sea-view room is quite amazing, and the restaurant has a sea view too. Breakfast was fine. The bed was much too soft and sank quite deep, and there was no water boiler in the room. I thought there was a swimming pool, but it had been demolished.

The water views are about the only thing this hotel has going for it. We arrived late after calling ahead, and although the hotel was full, my family of five, each with a separate room, were given rooms together, three upstairs and two downstairs. We had booked the same room styles at the same price, but my husband and I ended up on the opposite side, looking at the parking lot, with two twin beds. The others got rooms facing the water with beds for couples. Our room was awful. The balcony door opened onto a fake balcony you couldn’t stand on, and when we opened it for air, we found cobwebs and what looked like a nest. There were no fans or air at all. The carpet was stained and the old furnishings were dingy and disgusting. The TV was advertised as having cable, but only a few channels came in, all in Danish except CNN. The bathroom was like a prison cell: no shower curtain, a shower we couldn’t figure out, and water that wouldn’t get warm. We had to go downstairs for help because there was no room phone. The young woman who helped us was pleasant, but it was the strangest shower ever. The Wi-Fi worked well, the pool looked inviting, and the breakfast buffet was very nice. Still, I’d never stay here again. There have to be nicer options elsewhere. If I could demand a refund, I would. We were very upset by that hideous room, especially on vacation more than 4,000 miles from home.
