The rooms in the building with the 300-series numbers were okay, and check-in, though a bit slow, was fine. My wife and I stayed in September to watch the “Sort sol” bird display, with a reservation through booking.com. The main building stays locked overnight and opens at breakfast, which is served from 8-10, so there's no early breakfast option. The buffet was the reason for my overall one-star rating. It seemed some food was being brought out from the day before, including Brie and other cheeses that you cut with a knife, as well as some of the bread. In Denmark, re-serving buffet food is against the law because of health risks. The pancake machine area was dirty, they ran out of clean coffee cups, and one yoghurt was past its date. The breakfast space is very small for the number of guests, and staff were VERY slow to clear tables. They also didn't change tablecloths between customers, even when food had been spilled. The rooms are nice but relatively expensive. Staying here is okay if you're willing to pay over the odds, but I'd definitely eat somewhere else.

The rooms are average at best, and the bathroom is outdated. Most of all, avoid the restaurant. The food was mediocre, seemed to have been prepared in the morning and reheated, and some of it was lukewarm. There was only one set menu, and it reminded me of hospital food.

I was here for business and would gladly come back another time as a private guest. The room was spacious and had everything I needed, the service was good, and breakfast was lovely. It's a lovely hotel in a beautiful spot in the middle of wonderful Tønder.

The hotel is in a nice location: you can walk into town or cross the street to a wonderful museum. Staff were courteous, though not friendly, and the service was just okay. The hotel is looking a little tired, and there was nowhere secure to lock things up. We were on a long bike tour, so being told they had CCTV and could see who stole our bikes and when didn't help much when we had to move on.
