Hotel Marina

Breakfast had an adequate selection, though nothing stood out. The rooms are very large, and Martin at reception was especially helpful and positive. The staff were friendly throughout, and the hotel’s location is hard to beat: right by the beach and marina, with beautiful views, and just 400 meters from the train station. The bed was the main reason I’d hesitate to return. Its mattress was so uncomfortable that I woke with back pain, and felt no better than a temporary folding bed. Noise was another problem. Sound carries through the thin gypsum walls between rooms, and the glass windows do little to block outside noise. The hotel also feels seriously outdated, particularly the rooms, which need modernization, better lighting controls, updated amenities, and soundproofing. It seems to be struggling to balance the cost of upgrades with the return. A modest investment, better beds, and a couple of chic eateries or a bar could make it a sought-after destination. If you choose to stay, lower your expectations and you’ll definitely enjoy it. I’d come back if they changed the mattress.

I could barely load a webpage on the room’s terrible wifi, so working from there wasn’t realistic. The room itself was old, the bathroom dirty and dated, and the electrical wiring was poor, even though reception looked modern. The toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall, and the area around the toilet was filthy, with dirt that looked as if it had never been cleaned. The extractor fan didn’t work, probably because it was full of dust and dirt. At bedtime I found that turning off the ceiling light meant cutting all power to the room, including the bedside lamp and wall sockets. When I raised it with reception at 22.30, they said they knew about it but hadn’t fixed it. The next day a colleague told me he’d had the exact same problem several months earlier. It gives the impression they don’t care about guest feedback or improving the experience. I was there for two nights on a business trip. Breakfast was very poor and not worth the money. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I won’t be back.

Very close to Vedbæk railway station, with good car parking and a lovely sea view. The hotel felt clean and fresh, so the reviews about it being unclean must be old news. It’s also near a bath beach.

The food tasted great, and the service was great too. The hotel was clean, and it’s a beautiful building, but the old, shabby furniture and appliances make it clear the whole place really needs a renovation and modernization.
