Hotel Skibelund Krat

The rooms have slightly old furniture, but it’s in decent condition. Staff were kind, and both the hotel surroundings and restaurant were nice. The food was delicious, and the area is especially pleasant for walks in the woods.

Some of the staff were rude and unhelpful, which let down the ones who were hospitable. Reception and the other services all shut at 9pm, and there’s just ONE iron and board shared by rooms on both floors. The rooms are extremely bare. Even a kettle with tea and coffee, or a few nibbles, would count as a luxury here. Breakfast is overpriced and very BASIC. The cornflakes didn’t even taste like cornflakes, and there’s no effort to offer anything warm. This “hotel” feels like a glorified youth hostel, with BASIC as its one and only aim. The customer service is the bare minimum, and it isn’t worth your hard-earned money. There are better hotels in Kolding and Vejen. If you’re fine with low standards and watching your money go on BASIC accommodation, you could stay here. Otherwise, avoid it if you don’t want to be disappointed.

There aren’t any drinks in the room, not even water. Bring some back from the shops unless you want to be thirsty in the middle of the night, especially since nobody will be there after 21.

The food was delicious and the service was nice. The hotel is out in the countryside, with a pleasant view, but it’s difficult to get there by public transport.
