We had a wonderful time here in March. For the price, I was really impressed by how nice the property and rooms were. The bathrooms are a little quirky, with blinds and glass and sliding barn doors. Food and drinks onsite were pretty good, room service was very reasonably priced, and having breakfast on our balcony was lovely. I enjoyed the pools, tennis court, spa, and borrowing bikes to explore the area. The head of the spa and fitness facilities was wonderful and helped us get set up to play tennis. Nearby beach restaurants were an easy walk for dinner. We also enjoyed the Indian River Tour, waterfall hikes, and nature walks where we could spot endangered parrots native to the island. There's a small sandy beach at the edge of the property where you can wade into the ocean. After 3 nights, we went to Jungle Bay, which cost more and was an unpleasant experience. We returned to the Intercontinental after just 1 night there and were so glad to be back. I hadn't thought of myself as a resort person, but I really liked this place because it never felt crowded.

We spent 10 nights here and loved how beautiful the property was. We enjoyed the garden paths, cycling around the grounds, and swimming in the pools. The room was large and very comfortable, with a balcony and a small couch and table where we could take in the amazing mountain view. Dinner stood out: the menu had excellent choices and the food quality was outstanding. Breakfast was very good too, though not at dinner's level. Service at both meals varied depending on who served us. The housekeeping team were professional, friendly, and helpful. We also loved the live music and yoga classes, and the fitness center was top notch. We took several day excursions, but the driving is fairly challenging. If we had stayed fewer days, we probably wouldn't have left the property. It was that beautiful.

The staff were amazing, delightful, and incredibly helpful. We loved our stay. The rooms were large, with comfortable beds, a bathtub, and a lovely balcony, and there's a great gym. Our one complaint was that the food cost a lot. The beach is a short walk away, and there are plenty of things to explore in the north. For going to the south, this isn't a great base unless you have a

Everything was clean and new in the rooms, the air conditioning worked amazingly, and the beds were good. We had a really great experience, with amazing service. The manager, Samar, was very sweet, and we liked both the restaurant breakfast and the pool. I'd come back 100% and fully recommend it.

If you have diabetes, be careful. This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service, in the middle of nowhere, but what happened with my insulin was completely unacceptable. At check-in I left two ice packs at reception, labelled with my name and room number, to be stored in a freezer for transporting my insulin. The minibar cooler in my beautiful room wasn't working, so I couldn't keep the insulin cold there. They swapped it for a new, already cold fridge in just ten minutes, which was impressive. But the next morning that one wasn't working either because the wall socket had lost power. I had to take my insulin to reception to keep it refrigerated, something you wouldn't expect at a luxury hotel. They did fix the electrical problem. At checkout, they found the insulin straight away, but it took reception nearly half an hour to locate the ice packs, which had been lost. Luckily they were still frozen. Otherwise I'd have been in serious trouble with a full day of travel in a tropical climate. Whatever the hotel's quality, you expect a basic level of care with life-saving medication that needs refrigeration. My experience with Intercontinental Cabrits on this was a complete disaster. Ten years from now, this is what I'll remember the hotel for.
