Coming back each day to a lovely room, a beautiful view, a spa treatment, and fresh, delicious food made the stay feel so luxurious. The Adventure Wellness package also took the hassle out of planning: we could hike, kayak, snorkel, and explore, with every excursion, meal, and treatment being great. The balance of activity and downtime was just right. The whole staff was kind and attentive, and did their best to make us feel like family. We’re already counting down until we can return.

The room was clean and roomy, the beds were very comfortable, and the balcony had a nice view and cozy outdoor furniture. Most of the serving staff were sweet, and Sam, the owner, was friendly and always stopped for a chat despite being busy. The setting is beautiful and can feel rural for a moment, though thin walls quickly remind you there are other guests nearby. Expect spiders and geckos in the room, too. For more than £1,000 for four nights on our honeymoon, we expected a relaxing shower. The eco-friendly shower only had 3-5 minutes of hot water, so we felt rushed, and I didn’t even try to wash my hair. The walls are so thin we could hear every word from next door, and staff didn’t seem interested in helping us look at other rooms. The mosquito nets also smelled strongly of dust when let down, so I doubt they’re cleaned often. The front desk staff seemed disinterested and as if they didn’t want to be there. Given what we paid, I expected more care and interest. Breakfast was limited and repetitive. We went elsewhere for lunch and dinner, so I can’t judge the food quality, but the menus looked limited. Options seem aimed at American guests, and there’s only filter coffee, no cappuccino. Activities felt overpriced, and more like a way to bring in income than to enrich the guest experience. We regret choosing Jungle Bay for our honeymoon. We think we could have enjoyed ourselves more somewhere cheaper and put the savings toward private tours or activities, or nice meals out.

The views across this gorgeous property are hard to beat, and the place feels peaceful and luxurious. Some rooms are a long way from the main building, but golf carts are always on hand to take you there or bring you back. The beds weren’t very comfortable, and sound carries through the shared wall. We could hear the couple next door, though that wouldn’t stop me from returning. Food was okay, but choices were limited and items were often missing from the daily rotating menu. We still had enough to eat. A beautiful gem on the island!

The staff made us feel welcome and special, with Sam Raphael and GM Laura Ell leading a friendly, efficient team. Nancy’s yoga sessions were a highlight, and we also enjoyed the excellent food, tours, and activities. The landscaping and setting are wonderful, and the amenities and service felt first class. I spent two short days at Jungle Bay celebrating my birthday in late January, and it was a spectacular experience worth the expense. An unforgettable vacation, highly recommended when in Dominica.

We loved the restaurant’s fresh, flavorful breakfast and dinner, and both of us had fantastic massages at the spa. Our ocean-facing villa was private, with a spectacular view. The room was simple, very comfortable, and beautifully kept. Jungle Bay felt like great value, and we’ll definitely come back for a longer stay. A peaceful, rejuvenating escape I’d highly recommend.
