Soufriere Guesthouse

The owner's story was inspiring, and he has a great vibe. This was one of my favorite hostels ever and the highlight of my vacation. It's a quiet, down-to-earth, simple place, like a little paradise.

The host and staff were very helpful and friendly, and it was a great experience. The building is lovely, with both dorm and private accommodation. Rooms are spacious and well arranged, and the beds are very comfortable. In the shared kitchen, several people can cook at once, and there’s enough room to store food. I highly recommend it.

Birds, peepers, and crickets make a lovely soundtrack while you unwind in one of the many hammocks. The bedrooms have nice fans, and the guesthouse kitchen is well equipped. I didn’t see a single mosquito during my two weeks, though there were a few no-see-ums at dusk. The ocean, village, and sulphur baths are all a 10-15 minute walk away.

A spacious deck with hammocks, a quiet neighborhood, clean rooms, and a well-equipped, clean kitchen made my stay at Soufriere Guesthouse a pleasure. The owners clearly care about running the place well. Of all the guesthouses or hostels I’ve seen in the Caribbean, this is the best run. I wish more accommodation across the Caribbean islands were like it.
