Hotel Capriccio Mare y Restaurante

The staff were friendly, but you’ll need a rental car if you stay here. There’s no beach access, and the resorts are all closed to outsiders. The place needs major restoration.

I’d come back after my weeklong trip. The pool was really nice, the restaurant downstairs served good food, and the staff were kind, helpful, and always smiling. Thanks for moving me to a better room. The complimentary breakfast lets you choose just one menu item, so keep that in mind. I’m an egg man, and the vegetable omelet was sensational, divine, outstanding, you get the picture, LOL. The rooms were okay, but the service made up for that. It felt like a nice out-of-the-way stay, though you’re only 2 miles from the center with all the restaurants and noise you might want. There’s a cigar factory fewer than 42 walking steps to the right, with tours and smokes available. I’d already booked my tour at Don Lucas, though.

The pool was so dirty that we didn’t swim once. The hotel and restaurant are in a dark, isolated spot where we felt very unsafe. The restaurant was the worst I’ve ever been to, with terrible service and soggy, unseasoned food. Customer service at the hotel needs a lot of work. We weren’t greeted warmly, and the rooms smelled old and suffocating. There were no windows or bathroom ventilation, the shower was broken, and water pooled on the bathroom floor after we turned it off. There was no bath mat. We stayed four days and three nights, and they wouldn’t provide towels unless we asked. I rated everything one because it was nothing like what I expected from the phone, Instagram, and other reviews. This place needs a lot of improvement or it’ll end up with no service like that.

Everyone on staff was super courteous, and the included breakfast was hot and delicious. This out-of-the-way hotel worked well for my business trip: a clean, cool, comfortable place to sleep. I even took a photo of the pillow brand because it was so comfortable.
