Punta Cana Pool Sol Caribe

The room was filthy: blood on the floor, dirty sheets, a crumbling ceiling, mosquitoes everywhere, no hot water, and a terrible smell. Construction started each morning around 6 or 7, so sleeping in wasn’t possible. The hotel pictures are misleading and don’t show what it’s really like. The fees were a shock too. The price on Booking.com turned out to be false, with an electricity fee, a cleaning fee nearly as much as two nights, and another 20% for paying by credit card. When I asked to cancel because of the extra charges, they said cancellation wasn’t allowed and I had to pay the full amount. They even pressured me to go to an ATM and pay cash. I ended up paying about three times what Booking.com had shown. I called Booking.com, and they said they would refund part of it, saying they had been scammed. Reception staff were extremely rude and aggressive, acting like they hated their guests. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. A complete scam from start to finish. Avoid it and save your money and sanity.

I’ve stayed in some pretty bad places for half the price and didn’t complain because the pictures and price matched what I got. This place was so disgusting that calling it disgusting feels like a compliment. After driving four hours from samanà, I arrived at 5 p.m. The room they first gave me wasn’t ready. When I went back to reception, they offered another room, but it wasn’t what I’d paid for and was awful, with a broken mirror and just about everything needing replacement. I went back again and said I’d wait for the first flat. I finally got in around 7 p.m. Even after it had been cleaned, it was still revolting. I didn’t even want to sit on the sofa. You’d have to remove everything, burn it, and replace it all. See the attached photo. The shower water was salty. Inside the room, a piece of wood like a door separated me from the next flat, so it felt like having a roommate. They were awake when I wanted to sleep, and I could hear them talking. There was also a warning on the door about how much electricity costs in punta Cana, saying I’d have to pay if I used more A/C in a tropical country. This is mental. Riccardo, aren’t you embarrassed to put that in writing? Would you actually sleep somewhere as bad as the place you’re offering? I don’t think so. Please see the attached photo.

Don’t do it. The property deliberately overbooks through reputable apps and leaves people stranded. Locals say this happens often: they resell reserved rooms to walk-ins at a higher price when later reservations are due to arrive. Once full, reception closes, security refuses entry, and you can’t access the property.

Don’t stay here. There was no running water during our stay, and the place was dirty. They also used a false alias and a different location on Booking.com, with better reviews.
