Royalton Punta Cana, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort & Casino

Our favorite meal was at Hunter steak house, where we went twice. Mildred at the door was wonderful, and our servers Perla and Jose made sure everything was how we liked it. Fernando, the manager, had the food cooked separately to avoid contamination. Our butler Reinaldo also deserves a shoutout for arranging reservations and making sure the restaurants knew about our allergies. At Bella Cucina, Sorainny and Alfredito were kind, and the chef accommodated our shellfish allergy. We really liked the pizza there. We also loved under the sea, where the manager took great care of us and was amazing.

We loved our week at The Royalton Punta Cana and can’t wait to come back. The Vibe Team’s activities were a highlight, from volleyball to merengue and salsa lessons. Andy checked in with us every day, made sure we were having fun during the day, and danced with us during the evening shows. We got to know him especially well, and the entertainment was so much fun. The buffet staff were friendly and remembered both of us and our usual drinks. It’s a great resort for couples, and we’d definitely recommend seeing it for yourself.

We visited in January 2026 with another family and stayed in a Diamond Club Swim Out. The clean grounds and rooms, picturesque beach, and fun atmosphere made for a great trip. Splash’s water slides were nearby, a lot of fun, and hardly crowded. The Diamond Beach staff member Yovanny was a cheerful, helpful presence. At the main pool, Antony (Speedy) was fantastic, and we even named a drink after him. Andy seemed to be everywhere around the resort, always smiling and happy to help. Our butler Jairon kept us informed, arranged dinner reservations, took care of issues, and connected us with Santa, who was awesome, for a great family excursion. We also enjoyed the entertainment.

The food had good variety each day, and it was clear the chefs tried to cater to different cultures. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and housekeeping stocked the fridge daily. They could use some updating, especially the bathroom tiles and paint. The resort has potential for people who want a busy, social holiday, and it would suit families well. It didn’t work for us, though, and we wouldn’t return. We’re British Caribbean, my husband is a DJ, and we enjoy music and dancing. A lively place isn’t a problem for us, but we still like the option to step away from the noise, play pool or darts, or have a glass of wine over board games. The Hideaway’s music stayed loud all the time, from late afternoon until 11 p.m., which made relaxing or napping hard. We expected a calmer adults-only space, perhaps with low background music and louder entertainment elsewhere, but that balance was missing. Service was mixed. Some staff, especially in the main food hall, were friendly and helpful; others made us uncomfortable when we simply asked for water. At times we were ignored at the bar while other ethnicities were served ahead of us. Communication at the Hideaway lobby could also be hard because of language barriers. We didn’t get a welcome pack in the room, so had to figure everything out ourselves, which could be challenging for less experienced travelers. Housekeepers sometimes knocked and came in at the same time without waiting for an answer, and that happened more than once. The app made restaurant bookings frustrating. Places showed no availability even when they seemed empty, and dinner times were often very late, around 8:45-9:45 p.m. We complained but it wasn’t resolved. Checkout was abrupt and confusing. In the Hideaway lobby, staff gave us a form, then a paper slip, and cut off our wristbands without explaining what was happening. When we asked if we were done, they said yes and went back to work. We had to ask basic things ourselves, like whether someone would collect our bags since we were on the top floor with no lift, where to wait, and what the slip was for. Nobody asked how the stay had been or wished us safe travels.
