Sol Caribe Punta Cana

This is about the restaurant. Don’t come here. The waiter brought the wrong dishes, then charged us more for less food. The coffee was awful and the juice had way too much sugar. He also asked both of us for our phone numbers, which was completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

The one person who made a good impression was Victor. He took our order right away, brought the food quickly, and checked that everything was okay. He deserves five stars. The others don’t deserve to be paid even one dollar. We came seven days in a row because breakfast was included with our apartment, and the service was a zero. Staff barely noticed us when we arrived, and breakfast was meant to start at 8am, but every day nobody greeted us before 8:30. They only had three breakfast choices each day, and the food was okay. We had to wait for someone to greet us and take our order, then wait 30 minutes for the food. Drinks weren’t brought with the meal, so we had to remind them. Laziness like I’ve never seen!

The steak was so dry and overcooked that we could barely eat it. After waiting around 40 minutes, we ate the vegetables and a little of the steak because we were hungry, but it was nothing like the menu picture. We’d asked first whether it really looked like the photo, since so many restaurants in the area had let us down, and they said yes. We’d also asked for medium rare. We complained and offered to pay half the bill for the two drinks, the bit of steak, and the vegetables we’d eaten. The chef refused, and we had to pay the full 37 USD for one steak and two lemonades, even though the steak was inedible. Absolutely disgusting. After reading other reviews, we wish we hadn’t gone in. Maybe this will save someone else from the same experience 🙏🏼
