I spent most of my lounging time on the pier and really liked it. It's a quiet resort with a good beach, suited to families and people who aren't into partying much anymore. I didn't eat at the resort, and some people didn't seem to like the food. My kitchen was fully equipped, so I made at least two meals there each day. Restaurants and grocery stores are close by, and the staff were very helpful when I asked for something.
The bathrooms by the pool and beach were very dirty, and check-in was far from smooth. The restaurant was overpriced for the quality, and apart from a nice beach view if you get one of those apartments, there isn't much to offer. We chose this place for my daughter's 11th birthday because of the waterpark, only to learn on arrival that it opens on weekends. That information wasn't available anywhere, which felt like clickbait to get families to book. There were lots of small children there, probably just as disappointed as my daughters. I wouldn't recommend staying here with young children during the week when they can't use the waterpark. I work in tourism, so these comments come from experience.
The apartment had a strong, unpleasant smell, poor hygiene, very old towels that looked dirty, and several unclean areas. We were told on arrival that it wasn't suitable for three people, despite booking it for three through Booking.com, and had to pay extra. I contacted the owner right away to ask about another apartment, but she said she was a private owner and had no alternative. The cleaning lady had already left and couldn't come until the next morning, so we had to stay the first night with no other option that late in the evening. Payment was requested through a PayPal invoice instead of Booking.com, which made it much harder to resolve the problem. I'd advise future travelers to inspect the apartment as soon as they arrive and avoid paying outside Booking.com.
The private dock and pretty beach area are lovely places to lounge, swim, or enjoy the ocean views. We found the property peaceful and family-friendly, a comfortable choice for relaxing away from the busier resorts. Cadaqués Caribe is a beautiful beachfront apartment complex in Bayahibe, with an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dominicus Beach and popular tourist resorts are only minutes away, and taxis and public transport are easy to find. It's a calm, convenient option for families, couples, or anyone wanting to explore Bayahibe at an easy pace.
We made some wonderful memories here, and the place itself was amazing. I wasn't keen on some of the restaurant food near the pools. The portions were too large for me, and some dishes just weren't to my taste. Since it's US influenced, that was more or less what I expected.
