Cockroaches were practically our roommates, the toilet didn't work, and the rooms smelled musty. The place was run down, and the whole stay was a nightmare. Reception told me they would keep my passport until morning, and even now I don't know why. A few staff members were nice, but my travel companion and the kids were terrified. There should be ratings below one star. From the recent reviews, it seems little has changed. I've visited the country three times, so this isn't a biased review. The blatant discrimination there still gives me chills when I think of vacationing in that country, and this experience comes right back to me. The hotel was bad, and the whole vacation left me traumatized.

A good place for a family retreat and some rest, with Dominican food and a great spot on Boca Chica beach. It's not far from the airport or Santo Domingo, either, for anyone wanting to visit the city or bring the family along.

The employees were cool, but nothing over the top. The food was the worst part of our stay. We tried all three dining options in one night and hated them, then stuck with the buffet, which was a much better choice and definitely fresher. I'd only come back for a free weekend, though it's a good starting point for beginners in the all-inclusive world. Our first room had aging stains in the shower. The second cost an extra 120 and was much better, with a better view of the pool and beach. The AC didn't work, even though we told them more than three times. Well, we were on an island.

The room was spacious, with a great balcony looking over the pool and beach. The drinks included were great, the entertainment was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful vacation and a great experience overall. The property is beautiful and well located, though its age shows in the hallways and fixtures that are in disrepair. The premium dining service isn't much different from the regular buffet, and service was below par. Beach seating is awful: there aren't enough seats, and people claim them early by leaving a towel, then don't show up until much later. They should add seats or stop people reserving them that way. The towel service is odd too. Dirty towels are picked up first and replacements come later, so you can arrive in between and have nothing to dry off with.
