I used to love this place and thought it was one of the best spots on the beach. I’d get breakfast and coffee, then leave my things while I went in the water. To be clear, I’m reviewing the RESTAURANT, not the hotel. My latest visit, on February 28, 2026, was SO DISAPPOINTING. I didn’t recognize any of the old staff. There were five or six people working, but only one seemed active. The service was slow. I ordered coffee and water, and the waiter didn't bring them until after the food was finished. There were ants in the sugar packet, which was crazy. I then found out it's a new restaurant with new management, though it uses the same menu as before. I’ve probably eaten here more than 20 times, and the staff used to be friendly and fast. I’m genuinely sad and disappointed that one of the few places I liked in Boca Chica is gone. I normally wouldn’t leave a bad review because I never want to hurt a business, but the managers had a horrible attitude when I spoke with them and told me not to come back.

We found Wüarao peaceful, lovely, and really well kept, just right for unwinding and enjoying Boca Chica. The staff were consistently friendly and upfront, which I appreciated in such a touristy area. We loved our stay.
