This place is safe and relatively quiet, with a beautiful ocean view. The rooms are very clean, the rates are decent, and the owner is very Italian with excellent cooking skills. The fresh seafood and surf-to-turf food are standouts. The beach is literally 30 feet from the bar area. If you’re in town, give him a call. My family owns property somewhere near this area, so I see it from a different perspective. It’s full of car coats, alley cats, and independent hospitality people, and it’s not really a family-minded resort. But if you’re a globe-trotting, peak-seeking person who likes immersing yourself in chaos, this place is for you.

At $50 USD (3,050 DOP at the time) a night, it felt insane. They don’t take credit cards, the booking process is a mess, and the owner spoke neither English nor Spanish. I could barely understand his Italian, and he didn’t seem to care. The treatment was bad, and the stay wasn’t worth what I paid. Parking only fits three cars. Very disappointing. I’m not coming back and would go to another hotel.

It’s easy to recommend this place for its seaside setting, with bars and other amenities just behind it. The Italian owner keeps everything clean and orderly. He used to be a chef, too, and is happy to cook a great meal, share a bottle of red, and have a chat.

I was there for just one night, but it gave me a lovely Caribbean feel. I could sleep with the window open and wake to the sound of the sea, without mosquitoes. The staff were friendly and pretty informal.
