Hotel Tronco Inc

The location was my favorite part of staying at Tronco inc. There’s a colmado/bodega across the street, a large supermarket a couple of blocks away, and the beach is a 10min walk. The airport is 15 minutes away, while the capital, Santo Domingo, is a 25min drive. We were welcomed attentively, the room was comfortable and good for the price, and everyone was friendly. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable place in a convenient spot.

We came over to El Tronco from hotel agua dulce down the street, but had to leave right away because the service was so bad. They only accepted cash, just like hotel agua dulce. In a tourist area, everyone seems to expect visitors to carry loads of cash. Terrible service and treatment of tourists.

The room had no lights and was very hot, so I left within two hours. The manager wouldn’t offer any deal at the time. I tried going back later, hoping they’d cut me some slack because I’d had to leave due to the hotel’s fault, but they wouldn’t work with me despite all the other problems there. I thought they might, but no. That was my last time.

It’s not fancy, just functional, and I love it. There’s a hospital with an emergency room to the left, a good place to eat across from it, and a big OLe supermarket to the right, which has food too. Across the street there’s a (colamado) bodega. The beach is about a 5-minute walk, but I don’t like walking in my bathing suit, so I took a motorcycle instead. It’s about 10 minutes from the airport, and you can get there by Uber.
