Hotel El Magnifico

The hotel is beside a cemetery, and I wouldn't have booked if I had known. The bathroom could use a thorough cleaning; there was hair on the floor and stains in the shower.

We've stayed here several times and love the beautiful, quiet spot, which is still within walking distance of all the action. The staff are amazing. Some balconies have a view of the cemetery, but the balconies are huge and the buildings are round, so you can sit somewhere else and not see it. If you don't want that view at all, ask the staff. They'll suggest rooms that don't look out onto it.

It's oceanfront and lovely, so who could complain about a view of the cemetery? When families visit the graves with food, music, stories, and gifts, it's fantastically interesting. Folks used to a sanitized suburban lifestyle can get that at home!

What a place! It's the nicest spot in town, hands down, right on the beach with a beautiful garden, a pool, and two jacuzzis. It's an apartment hotel. I got a one-bedroom without a kitchen; there are also larger options with a fully equipped kitchen and living room, or a two-bedroom apartment. The staff are really friendly, and security is there 24/7. The busy street is far away and blocked off, so all you hear is the ocean waves. You can't swim safely right in front of the property, so you'll need to walk a few hundred yards, but that does make this stretch feel more private. There's a supermarket around the corner, a really nice restaurant a few steps away, and the main beach bars are a short walk.
