Guesthouse Juan Dolio

The owners are friendly and ready to help, and there’s a kitchenette with a refrigerator. The location and prices are good, though there are plenty of details that could use work. If your budget is tight and you’re not too concerned about those details, it could suit you. Juan Dolio has a lot of potential, so it’s a shame quality isn’t taken more seriously. With a little effort, the place could stand out, especially being so close to Santo Domingo. I hope they keep growing.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and so quiet. We slept peacefully with birds in the morning and crickets at night. It’s a family home with a pet, and it’s very close to beaches and restaurants. This was our first stop on vacation in the Dominican Republic. There’s an ATM and a bus stop about a five-minute walk away if you want to head to Santo Domingo. One suggestion: offer breakfast or meals for an extra charge. I got food poisoning from something on the beach, from vendors who approach the restaurants. At my father’s request, Liliana made me a hot drink to ease the stomach cramps, then some juice to help me recover. Since I couldn’t leave the room, she also made a delicious chicken soup that really brought my energy back. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Just a five-minute walk to the beach, and excellent value for money. The manager keeps a low profile but is very attentive to your well-being. The best!
