The hotel opens straight onto the beach from the backyard, and the view is stunning. The staff were kind and helpful, and really tried to take care of everything I asked for. Across the street there's a little restaurant I loved, clean and affordable, with great food. I'd highly recommend staying here when visiting Juan Dolio.

The beach felt cooler than the room, and I barely slept. The AC in my first room wasn't working, then I was moved to a worse room with a worse view and an air conditioner that still didn't blow cold air. Later someone helped me get it working a bit better: you have to turn it on and hold the button for three seconds. It makes the same noise on or off, so when the person showed us the room and switched it on, we thought it was running. The air was still only cooler than before, not cold. I'd stayed here as a kid and came back seven years later. The change was night and day. It used to be clean, now it isn't. A rooster kept crowing from 4:30 to 7:00 in the morning and had me awake from 4:30. On the shower head in my first room there was algae, and under it were spider webs. My mom told the cleaning lady even though I'd asked her not to. The lady said they weren't cobwebs, just dust from construction on the second floor, while we were on the third. My mom and I just looked at each other in disgust. The cleaning lady eventually cleaned them. I had to pay for this, and I'm very unhappy. I wouldn't stay again even if the next night were free. I can send videos of the algae to anyone who asks, since Google only lets you upload pictures. I'm not much of a reviewer, but I really hope nobody else tries to save money on a cheap place like this. It isn't worth it, and I wasted valuable time here. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🙃🙃🙃😭😭😭

The only thing going for it was how close it is to the beach. The room and kitchen were dirty, and the room door was broken. In the middle of the night the bathroom locked itself, and we had to hit the door pretty hard to get it open.

We stayed for over a week, and Adrian checked with us whenever we saw him to make sure everything was okay and ask if we needed anything. He was an excellent host. The room was very clean, and Juana kept it that way. The beach is just steps from the hotel, with chairs and umbrellas included. You can meet locals and get great food and service, just ask for Claudio. There's also a small Italian restaurant across from the hotel with good food and excellent service. Ask for Mario, the owner, or Alexis the pizza man. You can't go wrong here.
