The beds were comfortable, the shower was excellent, and the rooms were spacious. The hotel was nice overall, centrally located, with a large ceiling fan and AC that worked well. What made sleeping uncomfortable was the bedding: they provided only one thin sheet, with no usual blanket. We got cold and switched off the AC, then became too hot. We couldn’t just open the windows because the mosquito net had a big hole, and lots of mosquitoes got into the room. It definitely affected our comfort.

A short walk gets you to Playa Grande and La Playita, and the shops and restaurants on the main street are just around the corner. Las Galeras Hotel is a convenient base in Las Galeras, Samaná, with good Wi-Fi and a clean, well-kept pool. Our room was comfortable enough, the price was reasonable, and breakfast each morning was a nice bonus. The owners are on-site and attentive, and everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it for an affordable stay in a great location.

What bothered me most was how little interest the hotel showed when we contacted them. My wife and I left a wallet with cash behind, and we know it was at the hotel. Afterward we didn’t go anywhere else or get out of the car, and we searched the car thoroughly but couldn’t find it. We called and wrote to the hotel. The employee said they had never seen it, and the response felt dismissive. If they had taken it seriously, they could at least have said they’d look carefully and let us know. It wasn’t just a couple of dollars in that wallet. I think the owner should pay closer attention to the employees.

The rooms were clean and quite nice, with good AC and a ceiling fan. Breakfast was awesome, and the food, location, and service were all great.

It’s right in Las Galeras, with several nearby restaurants serving good food until 10 pm. The hotel feels homey, and the service staff are excellent. Breakfast is included in the price and was outstanding. Playita beach, which is amazing, is only about five minutes away.
