Casa Phil

The peaceful setting made it easy to feel away from everything, while still being close to what I needed. October was a lovely time to visit, with warm, mild weather for slow mornings on the terrace and evenings under the stars. The morning light, fresh air, and beautiful surroundings set a wonderful tone for the days. Casa Phil is thoughtfully designed, from the interiors to the well-kept outdoor spaces. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the whole place felt relaxing. Everything worked smoothly, communication was easy, and I felt cared for without being interrupted. From the moment I arrived, there was a calm, comfortable welcome and effortless hospitality. I left already wanting to return. It’s a home I’ll remember. ♥️

The real standouts were Jackie and Esmeralda. Jackie’s cooking was phenomenal, with delicious Dominican food at every dinner, each one better than the last. She also pointed us to an incredible restaurant one evening. Carlos was responsive whenever anything came up and even helped arrange our airport transportation. Their care made the stay unforgettable. Casa Phil itself is stunning, with an open-air design and panoramic views we never tired of. It’s spacious, beautifully designed, and had all the amenities we needed. The beach is a short walk away, and town is a quick drive.

Casa Phil is modern, spotless, spacious, and has a gorgeous infinity pool with a great view. But Andrea, the marvelous cook and housekeeper, is what made the vacation. That detail isn’t very clear when booking. Once we tasted her first breakfast, none of our group of eight even suggested eating out for the whole week. I eat plant-based, while the other seven are full-on carnivores. Andrea made vegan dishes for me every day and delicious food for everyone else. Her Caribbean cooking and flavors were to die for. I highly recommend a vacation at Casa Phil.

I paid in full for eight people 2.5 months before our scheduled stay. Today, just two weeks before we were due to fly eight people to DR, Phillippe, the owner, emailed to say he’d decided to cancel our reservation so a reality show could use his house until October. We had full confirmation that all the money had been paid. I’ve attached a screenshot of Phil’s emails and my replies. I had to call Phillippe to get a response. He was sorry, basically, but said the same thing. To me, he’s greedy and willing to ignore his contractual commitment to us for more money. Now I’m scrambling to find somewhere else so $12,000 worth of airline tickets aren’t wasted. Don’t stay here. PHILLIPPE IS DISHONEST AND GREEDY AND EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT.
