The front bungalows don't seem to have this problem, since you can't hear the party villa from there. But avoid the last bungalows, beside the huge last villa with the private swimming pool. It's a party villa with four bedrooms, and groups of 12-15 people come through. The terrace is very close to two other bungalows, so you hear talking, shouting, laughter, and music all night. Quiet hours start at 9 pm, but they aren't respected. I was meant to stay all of May, but I'm moving out after two weeks because of the villa behind us. I reported it to airbnb, and the security guard is tired of dealing with that house too. I'm not surprised the owners of the bungalow I'm staying in are selling it.

I spent a month at Lomita Maravilla. The villas are beautifully set among plants that Ricardo looks after, and the adult pool is a delight. The beach is around a five-minute walk away. Even with just a few villas, 11 if I remember right, there was security at night. A couple of things could be better: some boards on the wooden pool deck are loose, and leaves from the main pool kept falling into the small one, which needed cleaning. Our villa also had lots of mosquitoes. Eating breakfast or dinner on the terrace meant long sleeves and pants unless you wanted mosquito bites. Still, the good points outweigh the bad, and I'll try to stay here again if I return to Las Terrenas.
