We stayed in the penthouse, and it was beautiful, very spacious, nicely decorated, with excellent service. You can see the ocean from the kitchen and living area, and the beach is an easy walk away. The pool was a good size and depth, while the top floor jacuzzi and grill area were amazing. A safety note for families: I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 10. The stairs are made of flooring, and the gaps between the rails are so wide even an adult could fit through if they slipped. My children are 1, 3, and 5, so it felt pretty dangerous. Next time we'd try the second floor, which has a private pool, grill area, and outdoor kitchen. I recommend the place.

We liked how comfortable, private, and convenient Villa Ribera Mar felt. It's a stylish boutique apartment complex in a peaceful part of Las Terrenas, just a short walk from quiet beaches such as Playa Ballenas, Bonita, and Colibrí.

The penthouses sit up among the treetops, with a gorgeous setting all around. Sliding glass doors in the living room open up to a great view, and the rooftop terrace is even better, with a jacuzzi. There's a lovely breeze throughout the day and birdsong, too. Breakfast was delicious, made right in your kitchen.

The beds were comfortable, and the apartment had big closets and bathrooms. It felt spacious, stylish, and very clean, with a complete kitchen and a dining table for 8 that could easily fit 10. The kitchen had the basics for cooking, including a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, oven, stove, blender, and a large fridge. Linens were included, and they also had beach towels and a cooler to take along. We were expected right on time and got a very organized welcome. The beach was close, and there was a large pool and restaurants nearby. On the first floor, we had a lovely patio with a BBQ and a jacuzzi for 2. The TVs were small, but that's the last thing you want to do in Terrenas anyway!

Danny was such a good chef that we chose to eat at home most nights instead of going out. We really enjoyed the stay, and the accommodations were lovely and just as described.
