Hotel Santa Clara

We always choose this place when we visit our hometown, Montecristi. It's super clean and comfortable, and the staff are so accommodating and provide great, one-of-a-kind service. Jasper, their restaurant, is amazing too, with fresh food and a huge variety on the menu. Highly recommend both.

The outdoor sitting area was lovely, with lots of places to sit in the sun or shade. Our room was really nice and even had a Fire TV. Breakfast was good, and it runs until 10, which worked great for us. The reception ladies were wonderful at night and in the morning. Such a beautiful hotel 🤩

The people here are extremely kind and helpful, and I loved the comfortable rooms. I had two issues: the restaurant they own, where breakfast is served, isn't part of the hotel and isn't close enough to walk to. Also, my shower floor was quite slippery. I'd suggest guests try other places for meals too, not just their restaurant. I came back to edit this because management wouldn't let me respond to their rather aggressive questions. I never asked for another room. Would they have given me one if I had? I doubt it. No one told me breakfast might be available at the hotel, and I never said guests weren't encouraged to go wherever they wanted. I was only making a recommendation. I write reviews to help future travelers, not to badmouth places. P.S. They should change the coffee maker. The coffee was always cold.

The bed, sheets, pillows, and comforter were all comfy, and the place was clean with a modern look and good decor. We'd definitely stay again. The two things we didn't like were the thin walls and shower water that kept going hot and cold. An extra lock or security chain on the room door would be nice too.
