By the second night, we’d changed our flights so we could cut our seven day stay short. It was that bad. Our room was humid and smelled moldy, as shown in the pictures, and we never got hot water. The walls were so thin that our neighbors' baby crying woke us several times one night. When we complained, they tried to move us to a room with broken AC and a cigarette smell. None of the rooms are nice. There are lots of stairs around the grounds, and the resort smells like sewage. It’s very stinky. There are some cute stray dogs wandering around and pretty peacocks, though. The bars only have one cheap liquor brand if you aren’t preferred or VIP. They called us multiple times and waited outside our door to get us to a timeshare presentation. The food was just edible, not good. I saw a kid cough with their mouth open over the buffet. Breakfast was hotdogs prepared three or four ways, ground beef, and plantains. We later found out the bacon was hidden at the omelet station, where they could also make fried eggs. A small win if you’re there now and want something fresh made to order. There are several restaurants, but every morning you have to go to Guest Services and try to get a reservation. We ordered spring rolls at one restaurant and liked them enough to ask for more, but they said there wasn’t enough for everyone. (???) Not very all inclusive. Pushy vendors around the resort try to sell souvenirs, massages, and even excursions. There really isn’t anything to do. The entertainment was mediocre, though I felt the entertainers were trying their best. Most of the staff don’t smile. They just stare at you and seem very clearly not to care about you or your stay. That’s not to say there aren’t nice people around. We talked with some friendly staff who even admitted the place used to be nice and has gone downhill. It’s sad, and it shows. The resort looks beautiful on the surface, but the details tell another story. If you want somewhere with less than the basics needed to be comfortable, this is the place for you. If you want to feel comfortable and relaxed, look elsewhere. Maybe take a cruise?

This place is a joke! The staff should treat all guests respectfully and help as best they can, but instead they spend their time pressuring customers to upgrade, or ignoring them if they don’t. Whether you get help depends on how much you spend. Everything at this resort seems to work that way. They promise a lot, but don’t waste your money. You’d be a fool to go, and I promise you’ll regret it! Cross this one off the list. No AC, no TV, no phone, no WiFi, and the list goes on!

The atmosphere was very chill, but nothing exciting, and I’ve stayed at better resorts. There was also a lot of walking. Our floor was still wet, yet dirty in spots, and the balcony door was broken. The coffee maker and service room phone didn’t work, so I had to use my cell to call room service. They never replaced the phone. When they did replace the coffee maker, it blew smoke and smelled burnt while making coffee. I asked for another blanket but never received it.

I DID NOT STAY AT CONFRESI THIS TIME. We stayed at Lifestyles Presidential, which was waaaaaay better to me, and used the shuttle to get to Confresi. Confresi is attached to and part of the Lifestyles brand, and I enjoy myself with the whole brand every time I visit. At the Presidential, Jeffrey checked us in politely and professionally, and made everything easy. Guest Services gave us a quick virtual tour and a preferred dinner itinerary complete with reservations. We were in our clean, spacious Presidential apartment in no time, about 20 minutes tops.

The sushi bar on the beach was honestly the best part, though it was only open for lunch. For food, our options mostly came down to two buffets, and it was average. Although many restaurants are advertised, most need reservations and you only get three per week, even when places are half empty. Some restaurants are for “exclusive members” who pay extra. The waffle house sat empty all week, but when we tried to eat there, we were told we weren’t allowed. That hardly feels all inclusive. We also found there were lots of extra costs. The WiFi was ridiculously expensive, our toilet and TV didn’t work properly, and most of the advertised 11 pools were in poor condition. The main pool with the bar and events was under renovation during our stay. Spa and massage employees kept approaching us to sell overpriced services aggressively. They offered fake “friend/family” discounts and pressured us to buy right away instead of letting us relax. I hate to be this guy, but this is the least all inclusive all inclusive spa resort. Sadly, if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t the place.
