The drinks were great, and I loved finding the mini fridge stocked every day. The room was comfortable too, as long as you keep the AC running all day. The shower having no door was unusual. Bowling was fun, especially with the 2×1 deal. This was my first trip to DR, and Punta Cana was a great way to see it. Barcelo was nice, though it didn’t blow me away. Most of the staff were amazing, but check-in and checkout were a hassle, so leave at least an hour before your transport is due. The buffet was below par for me, with choices that felt very culture driven. The resort has potential and is still worth visiting, but it’s missing a lot of wow factors.

We had to stay overnight after our flight home was cancelled. It’s a cool place, with a huge property that’s great for families and has lots to do. The staff didn’t impress me, though. Most seemed unfriendly and couldn’t even manage a smile, like they didn’t want to be there. Maybe it’s a management issue. Sad.
