Lovely 2-bed Apartment in Punta Cana

We chose another place and didn't stay. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment was clean when we arrived, and the staff were very friendly. Check-in service was great. But there was no air conditioning in the main living room and kitchen. Our family likes to spend time together in the family room, and I cook a lot, so that was a big issue for us.

I liked the apartment and found it comfortable, and the staff were nice. The TV was old, though, and only connected to local cable, which was a problem with the curfew. Our keys never worked, which became a headache. At checkout the manager was nowhere to be found. We were asked to wait until 9 a.m., which we did, then told to wait another 30 minutes. We didn't agree. Since we'd paid an extra 500 pesos for a key that never worked, we wanted to speak to her directly about it. Another staff member was able to refund us.

Ants were all over our bags when we woke up. The person at reception was terrible, and the air conditioning was only in the bedrooms. It was supposed to work only with the doors closed, but even then it didn't work. Listen to the negative reviews. No hate, just the truth.

Really, three stars for this hotel? The internet didn't work, and the place was dirty throughout: the room, the beds, and the swimming pool. The furniture, doors, and wardrobe were broken, and there was no kitchen. The room cost $22, then there was another $25 cleaning fee. They wouldn't accept dollars, so we had to pay in euros at the strange rate listed on their site. Zero out of 10. Don't book it!
